On this, the Fourth of July, it seems appropriate to discuss the words "under God" being in the Pledge of Allegiance; as such, I've made a video on that very topic:

And, hey, you could do a lot worse than subscribing to my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/BionicDance
I try to provide fairly high-quality rabid-and-screaming pro-atheism videos on a frequent--indeed, almost daily--basis.
30th-Jun-2010 08:43 am - Two New Vids
First up is Don't Run On Automatic:

My catch-phrase/tagline these days is "Don't run on automatic; please...think." It seemed reasonable to make a video specifically addressing that point, so I made this one asking people whether facts, reason, and evidence meant anything to their thinking process, or whether they simply went with what felt right, regardless of whether it truly was.

Next up is God - The Show and Tell Deity:

This one addresses the completely chowderheaded theist notion that, because we can't know everything, we can't deny that god exists since he could be out there somewhere we haven't seen. The counter, of course, being that if god is that damn hard to find...where did religion come from? Either god shows the heck up from time to time, or religion is just one big game of Make-Believe™...pick one.

Enjoy! And subscribe to my channel, if you like what I do: http://www.youtube.com/user/BionicDance
15th-Jun-2010 12:16 am - In God We Thrust
My new video about having god thrust upon us by believers, and how nothing is taken from them by giving equal breathing space to non-believers:

Be sure to sub to my channel!
27th-May-2010 10:09 pm - You Are Not Special II - The Revenge
This video addresses the nature of life itself, and how it isn't a magical force that animates the body...

26th-May-2010 11:21 pm - Police Your Own
My new video; it's essentially a re-working of the argument that "if atheism is a religion, not collecting stamps is a hobby", but with specific focus on the placing-blame aspect for those who misbehave as members of a community:

Mr. Hicks
Disclaimer: The comic is from a friend of mine.

24th-Jul-2009 09:17 am - The Voyage that Shook the World
Soooo annoyed that I didn't know in advance what the film The Voyage that Shook the World was about. I saw the title, the picture of Darwin and went along with the assumption that anybody would make. It's like putting a picture of Johnny Depp on the poster for a film describing itself as a crime thriller while it turns out to be a romantic comedy starring Michael Douglas. wtf??

I want my money back, and I didn't hestitate to request this from the fundamentalist nutters who were there promoting the film. They came out in force, like all the fundamentalists I've encountered, disguised as part of the crowd. A guy appearing as a patron started talking to me about the movies that were on and but before long I realised he was planted there to convert me to Christianity. I did get some hilarious magazines given to me for free, creation magazines that is. Utterly hilarious. I am a little embarassed though about the original comments I made to those promoting the film......well I thought they were promoting Darwinism! I guess making comments about fundamental Christians probably confused them.

I guess I didn't do enough research before showing up at the theatre. If you're in the same boat, do not see this film!!! Though I would recommend going along to laugh at the nutters promoting it.

A funny and informative lecture on the latest cognitive neuroscience on religious (and all) belief.

Andy Thomson gives his talk titled 'Why We Believe in Gods' at the American Atheist 2009 convention in Atlanta, Georgia.
